Craig and Dakota have never climbed Beaver Dam so today was the day!

Dakota leads us up the trail to Box Lake.

We were a bit concerned that the weather was sketchy but the forecast called for almost no rain. It was about here that Craig declared that those clouds are moving away from us so we should be good.

As I turned the other direction I pointed out that these clouds are moving toward us…..

Despite the threading skies, the photography was good!

Box Lake far below.

As we work our way across the ridge, Pot Peak comes fully into view.

The other direction, Beaver Dam Peak.

Another one of my favorite peaks is Sawtooth. (center image)

After a few hours we were on the flanks of Beaver Dam Peak. Far below is the Lake Fork Creek Canyon.

Summit! Dakota eats a little snow as a reward for the climb.

Craig soaks in the view while standing on the summit.

Views looking north.

After lunch on the summit, we head back over to the ridge above Box Lake.

The skies broke open and a beautiful afternoon began.

This ridge above Box Lake is an incredibly magical place. Few people get here but it is definitely worth the effort.
