ITA – Blackmare Lakes – Day 3 – Payette National Forest, Idaho

Scroll down to content

The morning of day 3 started out with a whopper of a warm up log. An un-named leader of the team declared that it was probably too complicated to cut….. My response “challenge accepted!”

This was an all hands on deck situation and the team snapped into action. Several members cleared a small trail re-route while other switched off on the saw.

Many times photographs don’t relay the size of these logs but I found an angle that gives one an idea of our challenge.

After an hour or so we were doing some touch up work. Notice Anne doing a 5 minute ab workout down below.

The rest of the day, most of the logs seemed pretty simple after the big one. Before and after.

Look in the dictionary under dynamite and you will find this picture along with the caption “dynamite comes in small packages.” Jenny makes quick work of this trail plug.

More ITA crew in action photographs.

Work, climb, work, climb. High ho High ho High ho!

Break time in a peaceful spot. Day three was a productive push up the trail to Blackmare Lakes. Funny, this project is called the Blackmare Lakes Project but so far no lakes!
