You can tell we are not in Florida anymore Toto! As I moved over to my new camp in Northern Georgia, I was dying to get a photo of an open view! I found one sort of…. this pullout along the mountain road had the best view I had seen all day, I pulled over and looked for a good spot to snap a shot. Unfortunately this 10 foot safety fence was blocking the view….. so y’all get this “framed” shot!

I arrived at this fairly notable trail system, set up my camp in the trailhead parking area and looked forward to some shredding the next day. Well, it rained all night long which was nice for sleeping but less desirable for shredding.

A couple groups came into the parking lot with gravel bikes so we visited and they confirmed that the dirt would be crap but the gravel would be amazing.

I quickly adapted and off I rolled on my mountain bike/gravel conversion.

This area has some nice looking streams.

The gravel was defiantly amazing, even on the Speianchi although it felt a little slow but the downhills were nice.

The ride was generally rolling then I hit the climb up to Coopers Gap and it was a legit mountain climb, almost 1500 feet of climb in less than 5 miles.

On top, the view represented what I had been looking at most of the day. Interestingly enough the Appalachian Trail cut across Coopers Gap as well and there were a few campers at the top….. my take on the Appalachian Trail, no thanks.

Another creek, Ward Creek maybe?

Defiantly a butt load of gravel opportunities here.

On the way back, the road cut across the Jack-Bull Mountain Trail System and I figured it had dried out enough to give it a try. This section at least was not too shabby, I need to come back when dryer and give it a rip. For now, it is on to other adventures. Stay tuned!
