Gulf Islands National Seashore – Pensacola, Florida

Every Thursday I have been meeting up with my Gulf Breeze buddies to do the Santa Rosa Sound Loop. It is a fast, flat, and scenic route that I frequently want to stop or slow down and take pictures. Unfortunately, this crew is not generally into slowing down so most of these great views are just committed to my memory, not digital memory. Luckily, Jorge joined us today and since he is significantly faster than the rest of us, he can coast and take pictures of the crew. All images in this blog were shot by Jorge, a big thanks to him for sharing!

This ribbon of butter pavement runs right along the gulf shore beaches, you can just make out the Gulf on the left.

Darrel was rocking a new bike which seemed to be cutting the wind like a knife!

Jorge usually gives the group a 15 minute head start so he can get warmed up before he crushes our souls.

Near the end of our ride, we stop and regroup. From left to right – Jorge, Jeff, Darrel, yours truly, and Mike. These are the core group of dudes doing the Thursday ride with several others filtering in and out depending on the week.
