Today’s adventure involves rolling over to the base of Jughandle Mountain for a little snow bike adventure.

It was good to see my friend Rich who is always up for whoopin his flatlander buddy Dave.

My trusty snow steed. Rich was rolling a new fangled high tech snow bike while I was going retro on one of the original bikes of its kind, a Fatback. I had ordered this bike back in about 2008 direct from Alaska. It was state of the art at the time.

Starting off, we cruised along the cart paths of the Jughandle Golf Course. It was a good warmup for the upcoming climbs. When I say warm up, I really mean it as the temperature was about 16 degrees when we started.

Rich patiently waits while I dig my phone out every 15 minutes or so to shoot photos.

Soon we were on the groomed slopes climbing the mountain.

Views, yup, a few!

Of course no snow bike ride is complete without some hike-a-bike sections!

Rich once again waiting for the pictures.

After a good long climb, it was a ripping decent back to the valley floor. And by ripping I mean a puckery sketch fest. Descending on a snow bike is a combination of sled ride, ski ride, bike ride, controlled crash.

Finally, I leave you with one last image taken by Rich!
