Today’s blog I would like to dedicate to my good friend Brian who is recovering from surgery on his leg. Brian is going to be on the shelf for the first part of the 2024 adventure season but will no doubt return with gusto later in the year. Brian, you are in my thoughts buddy, get well and we shall climb more mountains soon!

On an absolutely gorgeous Florida morning, Bruce, Mike, and I headed to the Blackwater State Forest for what turned out to be an amazing mountain bike ride. Well, there were no mountains but we rode our mountain bikes.

This track was generally lightly rolling fairly fast single track. A real treat!

Riding through one of the burn areas, boy does this feel like home!

Mike and Bruce were both working me over today so I started to use the photography excuse.

Occasional wet areas were a result of the recent heavy rains. No problem for us!

Hard to miss turn!

We decided to walk this plank as it was very slippery and Bruce said this spot was a little “Snakey”

Later in the ride Mike had me shot this image to prove that we really can ride the skinny bridges if we want too. It was an amazing day and a big thanks to Mike and Bruce for taking me on one of their favorite local MTB routes!
