I had been hearing about a mountain biking area located just down the road from my home here in Florida and today was the first opportunity I’ve had to go check it out.

These mountain bike trails were generally typical of trails in the Southeast, cut through the jungly forest in the rolling hills along the Perdido River.

One thing that I have found here in Northwest Florida is that there are a group of mountain bikers who are quite ambitious and have forged agreements with local land managers to build some MTB playgrounds…. for my Idaho crew, think Bear Basin and Jughandle Mountain.

Swampy area, no problem!

After tooling around for a while I found the river.

The rolling terrain and hard work by the trail crews made for quite interesting riding. Did you notice what a gorgeous day we have here?

Near the end, my gps route looked like a pile of spaghetti. Talk about packing a bunch of fun into a small area.
