Of course no weekend at Texas Tim’s is complete without some gravel grinding. Tim had picked out this gravel event located between San Antonio and Houston and talked me into joining him.
Less than 48 hours ago we had been playing golf on a 75 degree afternoon, this morning a cold front had blown through and it was 27 degrees with a 16 degree wind chill. This was like old days winter riding in Idaho and I needed to dig deep in my cycling bag to find the right gear!
After a little warming up on the bike, we enjoyed the gentle rolling hills of the area.
This was definitely not a race for me, I was back with the tourists taking photos and enjoying the moment.
It was a good mix of pavement and dirt roads with gentle hills and a cold breeze.
In Texas, what is the post ride meal? BBQ of course!
