I have been doing a little poking around on my bike over the last week or so and wanted to share a few photos. The riding weather could not be better here now as the temperatures are in the mid to upper 60s with sunny skies. My Idaho friends may want to skip the rest of this blog as it looks like y’all are suffering through some early winter blues!

I decided to venture out onto the Pensacola Bay Bridge which is about 3 miles long (6 miles out and back) with a cool bike lane. It takes folks from the mainland to the barrier islands.

The next day I headed to Pensacola Beach (which is different than Pensacola…. google it!). I tired to meet up with the local ride group but found out later they changed the start location. No worries, I headed west into the Gulf Islands National Seashore. Cool Beans!

Nope! Those are not snow drifts in the foreground and no those are not mountains in the distance!!!!

Yes, that is a white sand beach!

For this kid from Idaho, this scene seems like it is from a deferent planet!

In these parts, almost every bay outlet is protected by some sort of old fort. In this case Fort Pickens circa 1834.
