Stage 3 – Marmande to Agen, France

Another day grinding along the canal today where we found these guys paddling along.

Tree farm!

This road along the canal is not too shabby for riding either!

Lots of cool light and leaves today.

The overcast skies made for pastel colors. The light in Southern France is just different!

Sycamore trees along the Canal du Garonne.

We did do some cycling too…. besides taking pictures.

Nearly the same image with small cyclists.

More tree farms!

A boat chugging its way up the canal.

We reached the small town of Buzet and decided to roll off the canal and find a restaurant. The girls asked this guy in the green overalls for directions to the nearest restaurant and he escorted us there on his moped then spent the rest of the lunch hour entertaining us!

Back to the canal.

Where we found more tree farms!

Finally, in Agen, this unique bridge carries the canal across the Garonne River.

A view of the Garonne River from atop the canal bridge.

Now a view of the bridge from below. This thing was built in the mid 1800’s and it still looks brand new!

I saved this somewhat abstract image until last as every once in a while a blind squirrel finds an acorn…. in this case, one out of about every 5000 or so of my images is actually quite nice…. this is one of my favorites of the trip so far, you know I like to photograph trees!
