ITA – Cold Meadows (Day 3) – Frank Church Wilderness, Idaho

Scroll down to content

Today is a transfer day as we bump camp from Middle Meadow to Lower Meadow.

What a gorgeous morning!

I can’t get too many images as we walk through Middle Meadow. Note the moisture in the air, we knew that later today there was a threat of thundershowers.

Nothing like a full pack creek crossing in the cool morning air.

After crossing the creek, we needed to cross over a small pass to get to Lower Meadow.

Moisture on a spider web caught my eye.

Up and over the pass to Lower Meadow. It was about 2.5 miles to our next base camp.

The crew heads down doing a little work along the way.

Lower Meadow!

At the bottom of Lower Meadow, Cottonwood Creek emerges from the beaver dam complexes.

After setting up camp, brushing was the theme of the afternoon.

As we arrive back in camp, the thundershowers roll in just as predicted.

Luckily, camp was set and we were able to hunker down and stay dry. Nothing like thundershowers in the Frank!
