The next morning we all woke up with great anticipation, it was resupply day and we had two new members joining the crew!

After a leisurely morning, soon we heard the buzz of “De Plane! De Plane!!!”

After leaving two weeks ago with an injury, Tom has returned with our resupply gear and brought a special guest, Herbert.

We all met up at the Chamberlain Basin Guard Station and the Wilderness Rangers came out to greet us.

Not since the first few hours of our trip we were now back at full strength! When Tom went out on day one, Pam recruited me to be co-leader. I was happy to relinquish that roll and returned to worker bee.

We packed up our again overflowing packs and tools and started our nearly two day trek to Moose Meadows. There we will set up a base camp and start working down McCalla Creek. After two weeks of working with our team, without saying a word they knew exactly what I wanted them to do….. It was apparent that it would take a couple days to get Tom and Herbert trained up. Our well oiled machine had a little sand in the gears. It would take a couple days to get things smoothed out!

After a little work, I got the team lined up on the Chamberlain Creek Bridge. Tall guys in the back, shorter folks in the front please! Ok, we will work on that.

Up and over the ridge we go to Lodgepole Creek.

We arrived at Lodgepole Creek and set up camp, we then decided to pack our tools up to the top of McCalla Ridge to save a little work in the morning.

At the top of McCalla Ridge, Kjell finds a log and names this Springboard Point. Seems like he should be wearing his hardhat for that dangerous stunt!

The next morning we woke up to a beautiful sunrise.

We got an early start and managed to full pack climb to the top of McCalla Ridge mostly in the Shade. There, we reunited with our tools.

After two weeks in the wilderness, we were now seeing the Fireweed in nearly full bloom.

Along the way to Moose Meadows, this is Moose Meadows Point. I wasn’t sure if this was an actual mountain peak so I bagged it just to cover my bases……. a quick check on List of John a few minutes ago showed that indeed it was not. What is List of John and what actually defines a “peak”…. an explanation for another time. You can check out List of John here if you are interested.

After a good long morning we arrive at Moose Meadows and set up camp. We have had a 4 day work break, it was time to get back after it!
