After 3 full days of trail work we were left with a relatively short section of trail to finish up our project. Unfortunately, this short section looks like this! Before.

Durning.

After! Notice the pile of timber on Craig’s right side.

Craig looking the part!

It’s not a long walk before the next jumble.

During.

More durning! These willows needed to come out or they would very quickly retake the trail.

After.

As we finished up the final trail work and headed back to camp, Craig wanted a souvenir so cut a section off this very cool log.

Back to camp.

We stoped along the way to admire Spike’s work. It is rare to see crosscut shavings this large but Spike is the best crosscut saw in the ITA. He takes a special “Spike Certification” to be deployed, luckily several members of the A Team are certified!

Once back in camp we had a couple hours before dinner. Members of this team do not know how to sit still and were soon out searching for edible mushrooms.

Finding morels at this elevation was a surprise for all of us! They made for a tasty appetizer thanks to Art’s olive oil and fresh garlic!
