Black Lee Creek – Payette National Forest, Idaho

I’m finally back in town and the snow has melted it’s way up Lick Creek Road. Time to venture up into the Lick Creek Mountain Range.

I was half heartedly wanting to climb up a peak out of the Black Lee Creek Drainage but with the afternoon threat of Thunderstorms, even the slightest obstacle threatened to turn me back early. Continuous snow….. I can handle that.

Across the way, Snowslide Peak on the left, Golden Lake Peak on the right and you can just make out the summit of Platt Peak behind the dead snag.

Although not apparent in this image, Black Lee Creek was ripping. Ruby lead the way across the first couple of crossings. I happen to be babysitting Ruby for a couple days and she was happy to get out.

Further up the stream crossings got more exciting so we headed back down to the flowers. It was a mellowish first hike up in the Lake Fork Drainage.
