Now for something a world away from the lowland swamps and backwaters of South Carolina and Georgia! It’s a mountain bike ride in Central Oregon, an area I have spent exactly zero amount of time.

My good friend Tom and I are headed over to Redmond, Oregon to visit a friend and do some climbing and riding. We were looking to stretch our legs and break up the 7 hour drive.

A little research on the inter-web and we found a mellow 15 mile loop almost exactly half way to Redmond. Perfect!

After calling this Eagle’s Crest all day, I believe the actual name of the tallest peak is Rock Creek Butte and the ridge is Elkhorn Crest.

In all, it was a mellow but very cool ride just under 2 hours. It had minimal climb and was perfect for stretching some old man legs.
